SYA Ultimate Frisbee

SYA Ultimate Frisbee is a six week introductory co-ed program where players will learn about the rules, different skills, and the other ins and outs of Ultimate Frisbee for the first few sessions. They will also participate in scrimmages/games utilizing the skills they have learned over the last few weeks of the clinics.

Spring: Early April

Fall: Late August

Spring: Mid-May

When do practices start?

Spring: Clinics will start early April

Fall: Clinics will start late August

How many times per week are practices?

Each clinic session is once per week.

When will practices be?

Mornings on Saturdays

When do games start?

Players will participate in short scrimmages throughout the sessions, but the last few weeks are dedicated to scrimmaging only.

Where will games be?

At an Elementary school in the Centreville area.

Are there tryouts? When?

There are no tryouts or evaluations for ultimate frisbee.

Will all participants make the team?

Yes.

Is there a picture day?

No.

What are the registration dates for all SYA sports?

When do I get my child’s schedule?

Approximately two weeks before the start of the season.

Elementary: 5th-6th

Middle School: 7th-8th

Registration Cost: $60

Refund Policy

• Recreational Season/Camp/Clinic Refunds: Requests for refunds must be made in writing and received prior to the roster distribution meeting (coaches meeting) or the first regularly scheduled game that the registrant’s team plays, whichever occurs first. The registration fee will be refunded minus $35 administrative fees prior to that date. No fees will be returned after that time

Please check on field status if it has rained in the last 48 hours.

Decisions on field status are generally made by 3:30pm each day Monday-Friday and by 7am on Saturday and Sunday.

Field/Gym Status info can be obtained by:

• Contacting your coach first and foremost
  [Coaches, check your email the night before game days, to determine whether the school fields and gyms have been closed because of inclement weather, etc. and to alert the members of your team.]
