SYA Ultimate Frisbee

SYA Ultimate Frisbee is a co-ed program where players will learn about the rules, different skills, and the other ins and outs of Ultimate Frisbee as well as the opportunity to compete competitively. We currently offer two different programs: Practice Only and a 15u Tournament Team. The practice only program is meant for beginners that will participate in practices that are once per week throughout the spring season (10-11 weeks). The 15u Tournament team will participate in 3-4 tournaments in a season against other clubs in the Northern Virginia area. The 15u program is meant for more advanced players looking for a more competitive experience.

Spring: Mid-March

Spring: June before school ends

When do practices start?

Spring: Mid-March

Fall: Clinics will start in early September

How many times per week are practices?

Once per week.

When will practices be?

Fall: Saturday mornings

Spring: Weeknight (Day of week and time TBD)

When do games start?

Practice Only: Players will participate in short scrimmages at practices

15u Tournament Team: Tournament dates are TBD. There will be 3-4 tournaments this season, with the last one being in Early June.

Where will games be?

Fall: Clinic Sessions will be at an elementary school in Centreville

Spring: Tournaments will be in the Northern Virginia area

Are there tryouts? When?

There are no tryouts or evaluations for ultimate frisbee.

Will all participants make the team?

Yes.

Is there a picture day?

No.

What are the registration dates for all SYA sports?

When do I get my child’s schedule?

Approximately two weeks before the start of the season.

Practice Only: 5th-8th

15u Tournament Team: 6th-8th

Refund Policy

• Recreational Season/Camp/Clinic Refunds: Requests for refunds must be made in writing and received prior to the roster distribution meeting (coaches meeting) or the first regularly scheduled game that the registrant’s team plays, whichever occurs first. The registration fee will be refunded minus $35 administrative fees prior to that date. No fees will be returned after that time

Please check on FIELD or GYM  status if it has rained or snowed in the last 48 hours by using one or all of the following methods

Decisions on FIELD and GYM status are generally made by 3:30pm each day Monday-Friday and by 7am on Saturday and Sunday 

Ultimately, you should be notified by your coach about decisions.  If you have not been notified by your coach, you should assume that play is on
