SYA is the place to play for over 13,000 children and 5,000 families in Southwestern Fairfax County. We’re a local nonprofit volunteer organization giving the next generation the universal experience
of sport.
SYA offers its U7 and U8 age groups a unique Academy style program which is led by our professionally licensed SYA staff coaches as they work closely with our parent coaches. Our once per week Academy program allows for the players to participate in a positive player-centered environment where they are encouraged to develop not only their love of the game but also their individual technical skills through guided discovery and repetition. These sessions are designed by the Academy Director using the U.S. Soccer Player Development Framework with the age-appropriate developmental goals in mind. Every time we step foot on the field, we are aiming to achieve each of SYA’s 5 Core Values: Character Building, Teamwork, Skill Development, Respect, and Recognition.
Times will be adjusted when darkness is earlier and earlier.
All players should come dressed to play. Bring size 3 ball, pumped up. Bring water.
In the Fall 2026 the boys and girls switch days of training.
