The SYA All-Stars are the 2025 Virginia State Little League Champions in the 8-10 Age Division!
In a thrilling showdown at
Patriot Park North on Tuesday, SYA battled back to defeat McIntire Little League 8-3, clinching the state title in spectacular fashion!
McIntire came out swinging with a quick 3-run lead in the first inning, but SYA wasn’t fazed. The bats came alive in the bottom of the third inning – Miles Y. ignited the rally with a blazing inside-the-park solo homer , Liam W. followed with a clutch RBI single, and Maddox L. came through with a 2-RBI hit to give SYA a 6-3 advantage they’d never give up!
Maddox S. was lights-out on the mound, tossing four shutout innings, allowing just 3 hits, striking out 5, and walking only 2 — earning the win and sealing SYA’s championship run!
The SYA offense was on fire, racking up 13 hits! Liam W. was perfect at the plate, going 3-3 and setting the tone from the top of the lineup. Miles Y. collected 2 hits and that electric home run, while Maddox S. drove in 2 big runs.
Defensively, SYA was flawless – zero errors, a key double play, and standout glove work from Blake C., who led the team with six defensive chances.
Congratulations to the SYA 8-10 All-Stars — a team of grit, heart, and championship spirit!
They will continue their championship season by representing Virginia in the
Tournament of State Champions starting July 19th in Wilson, North Carolina!
