We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic intern to join the SYA team. As an intern, you will be responsible for assisting our marketing and operations staff in developing and implementing strategies to increase our online presence and improve our registration efforts, as well as promoting partnership events and awareness for fundraising efforts of the SYA Sports Park.
SYA Intern Responsibilities
- Work directly with operations on daily activities for various sports as needed
- Engage in and actively work on SYA events
- Supporting staff in event planning, including annual golf tournament, movie night
– Golf tournament – September 4, 2026. Movie night 2x summer weekends TBD
– Engage in our camps/clinics as an instructor, administrator and/or coordinator.
– Summer commitment – 40 hours per week for 2 weeks, June 22-26 AND June 29-July 3
- Working with athletes ages 5-13 to create an enjoyable athletic experience
- Monitoring activities for SYA as assigned
- Creating sports drill tutorials for coaches
- SYA Sports Park Management
- Monitor and advise leadership on SYA social media strategies
- Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization of our website
- Light administrative work as assigned
SYA Intern Requirements and Qualifications
- Great interpersonal and communications skills
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently
- Reliable personal transportation to and from Centreville area
- Weekday and weekend work availability
- Sports Marketing / Management course work or relevant interests
- Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Pass a non-financial criminal background check
