On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the Sully Challenger Baseball program wrapped up its season. Established in 1989, the Challenger Division gives boys and girls with physical and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy of baseball in an inclusive and supportive environment. The Sully Challenger program is a partnership between SYA and CYA that brings athletes, families, and volunteers together through a shared love of the game.
The impact of the program extends far beyond the players. It also creates meaningful experiences for coaches, volunteers, and Little League participants who assist throughout the season. According to Adam Baseinger, Director of the Fairfax Little League Challenger Division, the program provides an “inclusive experience not just for our athletes and challengers, but we also get Little League to come out and help. It is a good way to help kids get comfortable with kids with different needs. Challenger Baseball is just a dream come true for the kids.”
More than just a baseball program, Challenger Baseball builds friendships, promotes inclusion, and creates lasting memories for everyone involved. Want to join the Challenger Division? Register now!
