SYA Soccer offers two outstanding programs, a recreational and a travel program, to players ages 4-19.

What is the difference between recreational (house) and travel soccer?
In our house program, all children who register on time will be assigned to a team, and will receive equal playing time. Ability is not a factor and all interested players are welcome. Coaches are often novice, and are usually parent volunteers who offer to coach their children and their friends. Travel soccer is a competitive program. All players are welcome to attend try-outs, but not all will be asked to join a team. Once asked to join, playing time is not guaranteed though particularly at the younger ages coaches are encouraged to try to give every player as much time on the field as possible. Additionally, once on a team, players will continue to have to try-out every June to retain their roster spots. Coaches are highly licensed, often professionals, and bring a wealth of personal playing and training experience to the teams they lead. Travel is a highly competitive world, and players’ development is of the utmost importance on SYA travel teams.

Recreational Program – (Aug 1,2001- July 31,2010)
The SYA Rec program cannot be beat.  No experience necessary to play, no try out process. Our volunteer age group coordinators do their  best to honor “special requests”, such as schedule conflicts, location, practice day/ time etc. SYA prides itself on dedication to the community we serve…Our Players. We also strive to make our teams balanced.   Our program includes at least one practice and one game per week. Our volunteer coaches are licensed within one year, we background check our volunteers.  In addition to these items SYA offers a once a week Rec STIC Clinic (U6-U14), Goal Keeper Training (U8- U14), & End of Season Tournament (U10-U14). Travel Program
SYA is widely regarded as one of the top clubs in the region and is a member of the CCL, NCSL, and ODSL. The club has produced many State Cup champions and still more finalists and semi-finalists. Our coaches have coached all ages and abilities, from the youngest players to college and national teams. Many have played at the game’s highest levels as well. They bring a wealth of experience and different perspectives. SYA has a strong club environment with emphasis on teams training together, scrimmaging one another, and club passing players to offer them varied experiences in order to help them develop into the strongest soccer players they can be. Coaches work closely with each other and share a common vision with regard to player development and future opportunities. For more information, click on Travel Program in the menu bar above.
