Travel Age Groups

SYA Travel Baseball is adopting the age ranges being used by Little League Baseball to align our program with the players in SYA Little League, which began with the Fall 2018 8u team.

This chart will be updated each year to reflect the how this is being implemented. For Spring 2019, 8/9u will follow this pattern, Fall 2019, 8 and 9 will align with 10u being the big age, and so on. For the Spring 2019 season, the Mets will only support teams up to 12u. SYA Babe Ruth may be an option for older players.

Composite Bat News

Travel Baseball, depending on the league and tournament, are governed by various ruling bodies. While Little League recently announced it has adopted the USA Baseball Bat Standard, USSSA and AAU – the two popular ruling bodies – have different stances on composite bats. Click on the appropriate ruling body for their stance: USSSA, AAU (look for Bat Info).

For teams playing in NVTBL, they have recently updated their rules to allow any bat valid for Little League or other sanctioned bodies like USSSA or AAU to be used.
