SYA Soccer will once again hold their highly attended and enjoyable Spring break camp!


Camp held at Colin Powell ES, 13340 Leland Road, Centreville, VA

Dates: April 15 – 19, 2019. SYA and non-SYA players may attend.    

Regular fee  

Full Day:  $225    Ages – 7-14   9am – 3:30pm

Half Day: $195    Ages – 5.5-7   9am-12noon

Players should:

Come dressed to play. 2. Bring a lunch and a snack. 3. Bring a pumped-up ball. 4. Bring cleats and flat soled sneakers and 5. Water bottle. 

The Director of SYA Spring Break Camp is Rob Olson. He is SYA Soccer’s Director of Coaching-Recreation, A License coach, former US National team player.

Eric Lewis, Matt Monos are two high quality SYA coaches that will work the camp along with other qualified SYA professional coaches. All coaches will have US Soccer coaching licenses and be exceptional in their ability to connect with kids.

SYA Spring Break camp is designed to develop players to maximize their abilities and foster their enjoyment for soccer. Life skills such as leadership, mental toughness, resilience, self-confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, self-control, empathy and work ethic will be taught/modeled.

Players will learn/develop the following:

*Ball mastery/foot skills, tight ball control, ball striking technique. *1 v 1 attacking skills, 1 v 1 defending skills, *Age appropriate principles of play, insight/intelligence for tactics, *vision skills and quick, smart decision-making skills. 

Typical day at camp.

8:45am-9am                                Players arrive.

9am – 9:10am                             Roll Call/Introduction

9:10-9:30am                                First session – Warm up – Fun activities with the

ball. Stretching intermixed.

9:30am – 10am                           Play small sided games,

4 v 4/5 v 5. Coaching as they play.

10am-10:20am                            Learn “Moves of the day”

10:20am – 10:45am                    Play 2 v 2 or 1 v 1

– encourage using “Moves, skillful soccer”

10:45am – 11am                         Snack

11am – 11:30am                         Learn skill of day

Monday – Passing. Tues. – Ball Control,

Wed– Finishing part 1.Thurs. – Defending skills.

Fri. – Finishing part 2.

11:30am : 11:55am                     Play – MLS/NWSL Tournament – Small sided – 3 v 3

12noon-12:30pm                         Lunch

12:30pm – 12:50pm                    Tactical Talk, Personal Life skill lesson – teamwork, work ethic etc.

12:50pm – 1:45pm                      Fun Activity –

Communication building Play – Soccer Cricket, Soccer Golf, tag games

1:45pm – 3pm                             Play – World Cup Tournament – 6 v 6.

3pm-3:20pm                                Fun Activity to finish – Penalty kicks, etc.

3:20pm – 3:30pm                        Wrap up to go home

3:30pm                                        Kids are picked up.
