The SYA Mets (SYA’s Travel Baseball Program) are excited to host the 5th annual SYA Baseball Home Run Derby to benefit pediatric cancer research through Kyle’s Kamp. The action will take place Saturday, June 9th at Cub Run ES, starting immediately after the morning games, approximately 11:30am. There will be four age groups of competition: 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u with prizes awarded at each level – age is based on your Little League baseball age. Please note, this event is only open to SYA Little League registered players. Players can bring their own pitcher or use one of the coaches present that night and must use an approved USA Baseball bat. The snack shack will also be open to accommodate our big hitter and spectator appetites.
A $5 entry fee and any donations will go to Kyle’s Kamp in their efforts with pediatric cancer research fundraising. We look forward to seeing all those interested on June 9! Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow time for check-in and player organization. Any questions can be directed to Brian Colella (firstname.lastname@example.org).

New Standard to be implemented for the 2018 season – Read More about this here:
Little League has updated all their information on bats for the upcoming season. Be sure to review for bats are legal as new penalties for illegal bats (automatic outs) are in place. Bats are now available in stores and can be used for our fall season!
Note: TB/CP levels – Current bats labeled for use with TeeBalls can still be used however there must be a USA Baseball sticker placed on the bat. See the link above for details on how to acquire one of the stickers. If the bat does not say for use with TeeBalls, then the bat is illegal regardless of having a sticker or not.. It must be replaced with a new conforming bat. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Looking to not spend hundreds on a new bat? Still trying to figure out what to do as your old bat is no longer legal or your player has outgrown their existing bat? SYA Little League is maintaining a listing of legal bats folks have for sale. Check out the Bats For Sale page for details and listings.
While we all recognize that parking at Cub Run can be tough to come by at times, we want to make sure that all our players and their families are safe when leaving their cars and making their way to the fields. It has come to our attention that there have been some number of incidents where cars are being parked illegally, often ignoring posted signs, making crossing streets/intersections very dangerous. This includes parking illegally in the school parking lots. Please heed all signage and consider the players, families, and the local residents in your choice for parking as there is always the school lot (other side of the building) – which is often less than half full. We expect the police to be patrolling this area more frequently because of complaints. Here is a general summary of Fairfax County parking regulations:
Please heed this warning as well as street posting. All these regulations apply to all our fields.
