The nomination process for the 2019 annual Fairfax County Champions of Character Awards are underway! The Fairfax County Champions of Character Awards program honors youth, coaches and parents for extraordinary service in pursuing victory with honor in various athletics programs throughout Fairfax County. Instituted by the Fairfax County Athletic Council, this program aims to restore the ennobling tradition of amateur athletics in cultivating teamwork, leadership, good sportsmanship and community service.

Each year, youth, coaches and parents are nominated from athletics programs from around the county to receive this prestigious honor. Honorees are recognized for having demonstrated extraordinary service in the sports community while modeling the basic traits of good character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Awards are presented by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the Fairfax County Athletic Council.

Anyone can nominate a player, coach, or parent to be considered for a Champions of Character Award; and the nomination should clearly illustrate how the candidate has demonstrated one or more of the appropriate criteria of consideration.
