Meet Our Coaches
Coach Tori began cheering at the age of five for the Chantilly Youth Association (CYA) Cougars. After five years, she switched over to SYA and went on to cheer for her high school, Westfield (WHS), for two seasons. She also attended various camps, classes, and clinics at Dynasty, Legacy, and Infinity All Stars. Coach Tori started coaching for SYA while in high school. Coach Tori began as a sideline cheer coach and then became head coach of SYA’s high school prep team before coaching Extreme. Coach Tori was nominated for SYA’s Cheerleading “Coach of the Year” and traveled with our commissioner, Tammy, to multiple coaches clinics and trainings in Maryland, Virginia, and Kentucky. Coach Tori left Virginia in 2014, due to the military relocation of her and her husband, however, she is back and eXtremely excited to be part of the program! Coach Tori completed the AACCA Spirit Safety Certification Program in September 2012.
Coach Kylie has lived in the Centreville, Virginia, area her entire life. Coach Kylie graduated from Westfield High School in June 2013. She is currently taking classes at Northern Virginia Community College in hopes of becoming a first grade teacher. Coach Kylie began her cheerleading career at the age of five, cheering for the SYA Wildcats. She then continued to cheer for her high school cheerleading team for three years. Coach Kylie was Head Coach of our Youth Level 1 team for the 2014-2015 season, SYA Extreme Lightning. Lightning placed 1st at US Finals in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in May 2015, and they are currently ranked as the #1 Youth Level 1 Rec Cheer Team in the United States!!! Coach Kylie is very excited about her second year as a competition cheer coach and is looking forward to another winning season! Coach Kylie completed the AACCA Spirit Safety Certification Program in August 2014.
Coach Alexa has been cheerleading her entire life. Having grown up in Fairfax County, Coach Alexa cheered with CYA before switching over to SYA Cheer. In fifth grade, Coach Alexa joined an All Star competition cheer team, Power Elite, where she cheered for four years. Competitive cheerleading became Coach Alexa’s top priority and she spent several years advancing her skills in order to help her team win various titles and championships. Coach Alexa was a member of the Varsity Cheer Team at Freedom High School for four years, cheering for both basketball and football. She also helped coach a recreational cheer team, DSYS. Unfortunately, an injury during her senior year kept Coach Alexa from cheering at her college, Old Dominion University. Coach Alexa spent two years at ODU. She now resides in the local area and is pursuing a degree in Alternative Medicine. Coach Alexa assisted Coach Kylie in coaching SYA Extreme Lightning during the 2014-2015 competition season. Lightning placed 1st at US Finals in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in May 2015, and they are currently ranked as the #1 Youth Level 1 Rec Cheer Team in the United States. Coach Alexa is extremely excited for the upcoming cheerleading season and to be able to help coach a team in the sport she has always loved.
