SYA EXTREME is a year-round, competitive cheerleading opportunity, within the SYA Cheerleading Program.
OPPORTUNITY: Our SYA Extreme Competition Cheer program provides athletes the opportunity for dedicated training in one of the fastest growing, competitive, and skilled sports today. In May, athletes may choose to be evaluated for placement in our SYA Extreme Competition Cheer program. Those selected will spend the late summer and fall cheering for SYA football teams, as well as learning choreography and preparing for the competitive cheer season during the winter and early spring. SYA Extreme competes locally, regionally, and nationally.
GOAL: Our SYA Extreme Competition Cheer program strives to build strong athletes and responsible citizens. Our goal is for athletes to walk away from their competitive cheer experience having learned the value of confidence, teamwork, dedication, discipline, compromise, respect, friendship, work ethic, and high moral standards.
COACHES: SYA Extreme Competition Cheer Coaches are dedicated to developing a successful competition team and to help prepare our athletes for placement on their high school cheer team or to advance within an allstar cheer program. Our Extreme Competition Cheer Coaches have also completed the Spirit Safety Certification Program offered by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA).
TRAINING: SYA Cheer provides all athletes with training in traditional cheer technique, to include jumps, motions, and basic stunting. Our Extreme Competition Cheer program continues to build on these skills and provides additional training in more advanced cheer technique, to include stunting, dance, and tumbling.
