Announcing SYA Multi-Sport Clinic!  FREE!

Check out the FREE Multi-Sports Clinic!  Its for boys & girls (ages 5-13) at any level and is a great way to try something new, have some fun & see what they’ve been missing!  Your child will spend 10-15 minutes with a selection of our 13 sports, playing fun games both indoors and outdoors on courts, on padded mats, on the pitch, on the diamond, everywhere!

Boys & Girls:
Babe Ruth is a recreational program that offers a high level of competition and tournament play – basically travel baseball at an affordable price.  The program has enjoyed much success and gained much notoriety the past few years.  The 13-15 age group were Virginia State Champs and the 16-18 age group gained national attention by finishing 3rd at last years Little League World Series in Klamath Falls, Ore.

Boys & Girls:
SYA provides recreation House league basketball for boys and girls  focused on skill development and team play. The SYA Travel program is a more competitive program for boys and girls grades 5 through 8. SYA is one of the only youth organizations to offer both a Winter and Summer Basketball program.

Fall Clinic:
Sept & Oct
SYA field hockey is a developmental, clinic-style program to girls of all skill levels. We offer one of the few field hockey feeder programs for younger players – to prepare them for the some of the most competitive high school programs in the state. SYA offers clinic style instruction from adult teacher/coaches with competitive high school and college experience. Scrimmage “play days” are conducted with other local program to introduce the girls to competitive play. It’s a fast and exciting sport that is loads of fun to play. Protective gear is required.

Football is considered one of the most demanding and rewarding of all little league sports and teaches kids responsibility and commitment to their teammates. The football program is designed to provide fundamental instruction in the game of football, in addition to providing for the physical, mental, and emotional development of each child. The football program participates in the competitive FCFYL fielding teams in various weight classes from Anklebiter through 155 pounds. Teams are divided up by a combination of age, weight, and experience.

Fall: Sept-Oct (Clinics)
SYA Lacrosse is a developmental program open to children of all skill levels. Our goal is to foster a love for the fastest game on two feet allowing all players to learn the basics skills needed for success and enjoyment of the sport. We offer a Fall Clinic on Sundays in Sept. and Oct. as an introduction to the sport as well as for skill development for the more experienced players. Our regular season is the Spring. Teams are formed based on age/grade and skill level. We play other leagues within the NOVA area in an 8 game season with playoffs. Practices are 2-3 times per week. Equipment can be rented.

Little League promotes a healthy balance of community-based activities through regular-season play among local teams and access to the world’s largest youth baseball and softball tournament for more advanced players – the Little League International Tournament. The outcome of a game will never outlive the pride of belonging, the experience of playing, the friends and the fun. The essence of Little League is the people, their communities, and the everlasting bond between them.

Rugby is the fastest-growing team sport in the United States. This is our 6th year and have well over 100 kids in the club and now adding tackle for boys through MS! Every child is made to feel important, each will run with the ball and have a positive sports experience. Non-Contact/TAG is played during the summer for boys & girls from 1st through 4th grade. Tackle clinics are geared towards safely introducing contact for the coming season. No experience necessary. Convenient for families, practices are held simultaneously at the same field for all age groups on Tue & Thu. Games are held on Saturdays against other area clubs.

SYA is widely regarded as one of the top clubs in the region and has produced many State Cup champions. Covering the widest range of any sport at SYA, boys and girls may start with SYA Cubbies (U4) to learn their first team-based sport. Recreational/House-league soccer is offered for kids of all abilities through the age of 18. The elite travel program features an experienced staff of coaches that have played at the highest levels. SYA competes at the top-levels and is a member of CCL, NCSL, and ODSL. Our inclusive Travel Academy for teams features not only speed & agility, but professional goal keeping training as well.

Do you like being outdoors? Do you like to run? Do you like making new friends? Do you like trying something new? SYA Softball may be exactly the fit for you! SYA Softball is a recreational girl’s softball league based in the Centreville/Clifton area that also draws from neighboring communities like Fairfax and Chantilly. We warmly welcome girls regardless of their ability or experience playing softball. Softball is a fun game that can be played throughout a girl’s lifetime through high school, college and beyond!

Spring & Fall
Volleyball runs Fall and Spring Leagues for boys/girls co-ed teams from grades 4-12. In the fall we also participate in a Travel League for MS age girls. In the spring we participate in a Travel League for girls in both the MS and HS age levels. In the Winter and summer we run clinics for these same age groups. We also have a club program for girls between the ages of 7th-11th grade who play on teams that participate in CHRVA Tournaments between December and the end of May each year. Volleyball runs three distinct levels: (a) House (spring and fall for boys and girls in grades 4-12), (b) Travel (spring and fall for girls in MS & spring only for HS), and (c) club (a Junior Olympic program for girls in grades 7-12 from December to June)

Nov-March Wrestling provides a terrific sporting opportunity for every child. Everyone, regardless of size, has the opportunity to fully participate and develop their physical fitness, confidence, and persistence. Wrestling is an individual sport that also teaches the importance of teamwork and wrestlers develop greater body awareness, balance, and coordination that translates very well to other sports.. The SYA youth wrestling program is growing! We provide fun, instructional, and competitive wrestling opportunities to foster a love for the sport and enable growth as a person and athlete. Newcomers practice together and have the option to compete against children of similar age, weight, and experience level from other local clubs.
